The JJC Library is open to the public. Community members are free to use public study areas and library materials (not including the texbook and Library of Things collections) without checking in at the Circulation Desk.

Library Cards

District 525 Residents

Residents of District 525 who are 18 years of age or older may obtain a JJC Community Patron Library Card. District residents must present a valid photo ID with their current address in-person at the Library's Circulation Desk. Community Patron Library Cards are valid for one year from date issued and may be renewed annually within two months of expiration. Renewals must be done in-person and will require you to present a valid photo ID with current address. JJC students, faculty, and staff may not be issued a Community Patron Library Card.

General Public

Members of the general public, that are Illinois residents but do not reside in District 525, may check materials out from the JJC Library using a valid public library card from an Illinois public library. Your registration with your public library card to check out materials from the JJC Library is valid for one year and must be renewed annually. Initial registration and renewals must be done in-person at the Library's Circulation Desk and you must present a valid photo ID with your current address.

Computers, Electronic Resources, & Printing

While on campus, select electronic collections are available at public access computer workstations. Community members must check in at the Circulation Desk to receive a guest pass for the computers. Printing is available for a fee from all pubic access computer workstations. Library staff are available for basic and limited assistance with using computers.

Librarians

Librarians are available to assist the general public with navigating library resources and assisting with research inquiries in-person, by phone, email, chat and text.
